6th & 7th Grade Scenic Overlook Trip
The Whiting 6th and 7th grade classes took an exciting and educational field trip on Wednesday, September 22. They visited the Scenic Overlook to take a hike, where they enjoyed the beauty of the Loess Hills and identified many native plants. Another stop included the Mann Country School, where students got a chance to experience a one-room schoolhouse, participate in a spelling bee, and write with a pen dipped in ink like old times. Students enjoyed a picnic at Preparation Canyon State Park before returning to school. Thank you to our hike leader Heather and our bus driver Rick. Special thanks to Judy Ehlers for her planning and expertise that made our trip amazing!
Constitution Day by the 6th Grade | September 17, 2021
This Friday Miss McQueen's 6th grade class walked to the Whiting Public Library to celebrate Constitution Day. Several presentations were given including information about the Declaration of Independence, Preamble to the Constitution, the Constitution, and the history of Constitution Day.
The group watched the Fraggle Rock rendition of the Preamble, and they played Constitution Bingo that included prizes. To finish a good morning, the kids had Thomas Jefferson's homemade ice cream.
The presenters were Theresa & Lyle Ernst and Ken Carlson. Thank you to our presenters & the Whiting Public Library!
