FCCLA: ISTEP against Tobacco in Whiting

On Friday April 7th, the high school FCCLA students went around town picking up trash and cigarette butts. This was part of the ISTEP program or Iowa Students for Tobacco Education and Prevention. Our students picked up over 500 cigarette butts from main street to the city park. Students also picked up any trash they saw along the way. The weather was perfect for this event. Students also left a red solo cup message in the fence in the back of the school. The message said: "BE TOBACCO FREE." This was to spread awareness against tobacco use to our students and staff.
