HICK Radio Qualifies for All-State

On Saturday February 2nd, 2019, Large Group State Speech was held at Spencer Schools in Spencer Iowa. Student displayed their speech pieces to three judges to be judged. Two of the three judges must give the piece a one rating and also recommendation for All-State. Congratulations Landon Christensen, Alex Menke, Noah Hutt, Nick Ethier and Jason Hanner on your HICK Radio making it to All State! Way to go Warriors!
School Cancelled Wednesday January 30, 2019
Whiting Community School will be closed Wednesday January 30, 2019 due to the cold.
There will be no activities or practices after school January 29 and January 30.
We will be making up the day on Monday February 18, 2019.
Great Day at District Speech Contest!
It was a great day at speech contest on Saturday January 19th! HICK Radio (Landon Christensen, Nick Ethier, Alex Menke, Noah Hutt, Jason Hanner), Reader’s Theatre ( Allison Stokes, Kirsten Myers, Halle Murray, Cadence Morton, Sapphire Bennett, Dena Nichols), Group Improv (Semia Aldrich, Noah Hutt, Jonny Gage, Cassadi Anderson, Nick Ethier) all received 1 ratings. XOXO Radio ( Alayna Young, Atley Nelson, Semia Aldrich, Dena Nichols, Lauryn Teel) and Ensemble Acting (Halle Murray and Olivia Brown) received 2 ratings. All the students did a great job! Large group state is scheduled for February 2nd in Spencer.
Pennies for Patients Campaign
Whiting CSD is participating in, Pennies for Patients, a service learning program. Your child will be bringing home a letter and money collection box. You can set up an online fundraising page for your child by following the directions on the letter. This program runs from January 8th-January 29th. A pizza party will be rewarded to the class that fundraises the most money!
